Martin Caceres announced his arrival in Turin by silencing the Stadio Olimpico with a debut goal against Lazio in September 2009, and he has continued to impress ever since his return for a second spell at Juvenuts to in Janurary 2012.
The versatile Uruguayan, who can operate anywhere across defence, began his career in his homeland with Defensor Sporting.
Following a move to Villarreal, his performances on loan at Recreativo attracted the attentions of European giants Barcelona, who swooped to bring the talented youngster to the Nou Camp.
The Uruguayan has made over 80 appearances in two separate spells with Juventus and continues to be an important member of a side that has won four consecutive Scudetto titles.
On the international scene, Caceres was part of the Uruguay squad that reached the World Cup semi-finals in 2010, while also figuring in La Celeste’s victorious Copa America run a year later.
He was a prominent fixture too in his side’s run at the last FIFA World Cup in Brazil, eliminating both England and Italy along the way.
