Italian Super Cup 2002

25 August 2002, June 11th Stadium Tripoli, Juventus 2-1 Parma.

Captain Del Piero gave the Bianconeri a half-time advantage when he latched onto Salas’ perfect flick pass and drove the ball into the bottom corner past the dive of Frey on 38 minutes. However, Parma restored parity just past the hour mark when De Vaio unleashed a curling left-footed strike from the edge of the area. Substitute Zalayeta burst away down the right flank and played a teasing low cross into the path of Del Piero, who tapped home from point blank range to spark rapturous celebrations in the Libyan capital.
