Massimo Storgato settles a tightly-contested affair with Inter, taking Giovanni Trapattoni’s side one step closer to trophy success

Exactly thirty years ago to the day, Juventus took a significant step towards lifting the Mundialito trophy with a 1-0 win over Inter in Milan.

The tournament was contested towards the end of June and start of July, almost a year on from the Azzurri’s World Cup exploits in Spain. It had been a tough season for all concerned, in particular Giovanni Trapattoni’s men, who had gone all the way in every competition but had just the Coppa Italia to show for their efforts.

Having drawn with Milan and Penarolo in the first two encounters, academy graduate Massimo Storgato’s strike put the Bianconeri’s trophy challenge back on course ahead of their final game against Flamengo.
