The Bianconeri suffer a heavy defeat against Inter in the final Group A match but still progress to the last four, where they will face Parma

After two consecutive wins in the championship finals, the Allievi Nazionali were given a harsh reality check this evening when they suffered a 1-5 defeat against Inter in the final group fixture.

Although progression to the last four was already secure and a number of key names were rested, coach Ivano Della Morte would ideally have wanted the team to maintain their positive momentum and winning mindset going forward in the tournament.

Inter had to win to stand any chance of qualifying but their goal fest proved to be in vein as, elsewhere in Group A, Milan managed to grab the one point they needed to reach the next round.

Empoli finished top of group B after registering a 2-1 triumph against Lazio, while the other game finished as a goalless stalemate, meaning Parma advanced thanks to their superior goal difference over Roma.

Juventus will now square up against Parma in the semi-final on Monday 17 June at 6pm at Cesa di Marciano della Chiana. Meanwhile, Empoli lock horns with Milan.

Here is a summary of the Bianconeri’s schedule:

      Match 1: Juventus 1-0 Milan
      Match 2: Juventus 6-1 Genoa
      Match 3: Juventus 1-5 Inter

Semi-final: Juventus vs Parma, Monday 17 June (6pm CET), Cesa di Marciano della Chiana.

The tournament final is scheduled for Wednesday 19 June.
