The defender features for the full 90 minutes as his side take a potentially decisive step towards the Confederations Cup semi-finals thanks to a 2-1 success over Nigeria

Following an opening day defeat to Spain, Martin Caceres helped his Uruguay side to a pivotal 2-1 victory against Nigeria in Salvador last night.

The Bianconeri defender took to the field for the full 90 minutes as the Celeste saw off their main contenders for a second place finish in Group B and are now within touching distance of a spot in the Confederations Cup semi-finals.

Uruguay will be confident of securing progression to the knockout stages on Sunday night when they square up against Tahiti, who have suffered heavy losses in both their matches so far against Nigeria (6-1) and Spain (10-0).
