The Giovanissimi Nazionali strengthened their grip on a spot in this season’s Final Eight with today’s 4-2 win over Lecce at Juventus Center.

Claudio Gabetta’s youngsters got off to the best possible start in their last 16 first leg encounter, racing into two-goal lead through strikes from Wang and De Mitri either side of the interval.

After the Giallorossi had momentarily halved the deficit, Baroni restored the Bianconeri’s two-goal cushion shortly afterwards. Again the visitors struck back, only for their hopes to be shattered by De Mitri’s second of the game in the closing stages.

Juventus will be looking to complete the job when they travel to Puglia for the return leg on Sunday 2 June.
