Restricted to just 20 minutes of match action during an injury-ravaged campaign, the popular Roman will be hoping next season yields better fortune

Despite having featured for just 20 minutes throughout an injury-ravaged campaign, Simone Pepe continued to remain a vital support for his team-mates, urging them on from the sidelines as he worked tirelessly to regain full fitness.

The popular winger, who joined the club from Udinese in 2010, thought his injury nightmare had come to an end when Antonio Conte introduced him to the action midway through November’s Coppa Italia clash with Lazio at Juventus Stadium.

And despite making a positive impact with seven crosses delivered from the right flank, fate dictated that the Biancocelesti clash would be the last supporters would see of the effervescent Roman in the 2012/13 campaign.

An invaluable member of the squad, both for his sunny character and versatility on the field of play, Pepe will be hoping that this coming season yields better fortune.
