26 July has become a momentous day for Juventus, a day which saw the birth of three icons of the club’s history: Umberto Caligaris, Andrea Fortunato and Angelo Di Livio.
All associated with Juventus Football Club wish Angelo Di Livio, who turns 47 today, many happy returns. The celebrated "Soldatino"'s tireless running down the flanks and pinpoint crosses were instrumental in the Bianconeri’s success during his time at the club from 1993 to 1999, and are fondly remembered by Juventus fans.
The other two legends born on 26 July are unfortunately no longer with us, and we remember them here.
Umberto Caligaris was one of the first great heroes of Juventus’ history. Born in 1901, he was a fundamental part of all five of the Scudetto titles won by the legendary team of 1930-1935, and together with Gianpiero Combi and Virginio Rosetta he formed a defensive trio that will never be forgotten.
26 July 1971 was the birthday of Andrea Fortunato. He was a champion who left us all too soon, but whose memory will remain present in the hearts of all the Bianconeri fans’ hearts.
