Now at Newell’s Old Boys, the Franco-Argentine legend reaches a famous milestone of 300 career goals, a large part of which he scored in the black and white stripes

At 36 years old, Bianconeri legend David Trezeguet is still firing on all cylinders, and yesterday he netted a brace for Argentine side Newell’s Old Boys to reach a prestigious milestone of 300 career goals.

Juventus fans know well enough that he has always had goalscoring in his veins, with the large part of those 300 finding the net during the 11 seasons he spent in Turin.

His 171 strikes, some spectacular and some crucial to famous successes, mean that he remains the club’s most prolific foreign player and, despite having moved on to pastures new on the other side of the world, his popularity in the eyes of the Bianconeri fans hasn’t diminished one bit.

Soon the Juve supporters will be reunited with their hero once again, and now they await the special moment of welcoming him back to his spiritual home of Turin for the visit of Sassuolo.

The day to look forward to is Saturday 14 December, when the frontman will grace the hallowed turf of the club’s state-of-the-art Juventus Stadium for the very first time.
