Luca Banti has been chosen to officiate Juventus’ 2013/14 Serie A debut against Sampdoria at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris at 8.45pm (CET) on Saturday.
Of the four times that Antonio Conte’s men played under the stewardship of the Livorno-born official last season, only once was the result a negative one: a 2-1 loss against Lazio in the Coppa Italia.
Of the last three in Serie A, all have been victories. Juve won 6-1 away at Pescara, 4-0 at home against Udinese and also defeated Milan at Juventus Stadium.
Overall, the Bianconeri’s record with Banti overseeing proceedings is very favourable, with 12 victories to two draws and three defeats in the 17 games played.
Banti will be assisted by linesmen Riccardo Bianchi and Giulio Dobosz at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris, while Mauro Tonolini will be fourth official.
