With Juventus leaving the San Siro with a hard-fought, well-deserved draw against opponents who will no doubt be challenging them for Scudetto glory come May, Leonardo Bonucci was already turning his attentions to Tuesday’s Champions League opener in Denmark when he spoke just after the final whistle.
The 26-year-old commented: “It was an intense game in which both teams’ defences were solid. Juve again showed great character and desire to win tonight when we responded so quickly to them taking the lead.
“We were up against an Inter side that have become much more compact under their new manager. We maybe could have done a bit more but we’ll happily take an important point.”
The Bianconeri gave their all on the field at the San Siro, but Bonucci stressed that they will have to get over any tiredness in a hurry ahead of their 2013/14 Champions League debut.
He concluded: “Now we need to think about recovering quickly because on Tuesday we want to go and win in Copenhagen in order to make the best possible start in Europe.”
