Giorgio Chiellini has underlined his satisfaction at the way Juventus returned to winning ways after last week’s 1-1 draw away at Lazio in the resounding victory over Inter this evening.
Speaking to the media after the final whistle blew at Juventus Stadium, the defender began: “We wanted to get back on track following our draw against Lazio and immediately handled the game in the right manner. It was a true Juve performance.”
The Bianconeri completely dominated for an hour, but after establishing a 3-0 lead Antonio Conte’s men perhaps allowed a little complacency to creep in, something Chiellini is keen to avoid in the future.
“Inter's goal needs to serve as a lesson. It's not the first time we've run the risk of allowing opponents a way back into games we’ve already all but won, and that can’t happen again in the future: we don’t want a repeat of what went on in Florence.”
Chiellini’s strike was the one that put distance between the Bianconeri and the visitors, and he concluded by expressing his satisfaction with such a decisive goal.
“It gave us a bit of breathing space, and it's always pleasing to score against Inter in such an important match.”
