Giorgio Chiellini has described the winning mentality shown in today’s late triumph over Roma as the perfect symbol of this Juventus side’s hunger.
Facing the microphones after the final whistle blew on a record 32nd league win of the season for the Bianconeri, the defender began: “I think today’s victory encapsulates our team under Antonio Conte.
“Having the strength to go on and win it in the last minute when a draw would have been enough in terms of the dream of 100 points is thanks to the desire the boss instills in us.
“We played a great game, better even than we could have expected. We were playing for pride and the chance to set a new record points tally as well as showing that we’re worthy title winners.”
A visibly satisfied Chiellini went on to give his take on the possibility of reaching 100 points, something no side has ever managed to do in the history of Serie A.
“Honestly I didn’t believe we’d be able to do it when we started out this season because 100 really is a lot, and any slip-up in such a difficult fixture list could have put an end to it.
“Now that we’re in this position though, with the chance to achieve the objective at home, we’ll give our all to pull it off!
