With Saturday’s Serie A fixture against Sampdoria at Juventus Stadium now just two days away, Antonio Conte has intensified the squad’s preparations on the training field with a detailed focus on tactics this morning.
Yesterday, a friendly match against Lega Pro side Como – an encounter the Bianconeri won 4-3 – provided the Juve boss with added food for thought on what strategy will be required to get the better of the Blucerchiati, and today he developed his plan together with the group.
One of the principal threats Juventus will have to look out for is Sampdoria top scorer Eder, who approaches the visit to Turin in good form after netting a brace in their 3-0 win over Udinese on Monday and is their top scorer with nine.
His strike-partner Manolo Gabbiadini – co-owned by the Bianconeri – is also a tricky customer. The 22-year-old Italian international has been a productive foil to the Brazilian in a wide-right position and has six goals to his name in all competitions so far.
Today’s workout culminated in a mini-match on a reduced-size pitch, after which the manager dismissed the Juve squad until they resume training in Vinovo tomorrow afternoon.
Before guiding his men through that session, Conte will be holding his customary pre-match press conference, an appointment with the journalists which is set for 13.30 CET at Juventus Center.
