Beaten they may be, but Juventus leave the Bernabeu with their heads held high. The Bianconeri head back to Turin empty-handed and now need to make up two points on Galatasaray if they are to continue their journey in this season's Champions League, yet they also know there's everything still to play for.
Antonio Conte was certainly keen to take the positives after watching his charges put on a strong showing against Carlo Ancelotti's Real Madrid.
"My players have it in them to play 4-3-3, that's why I went with that system tonight. Unfortunately we lost a game that was decided by individual episodes but I'm pleased because we showed we're perfectly capable of holding our own on a stage like this, against a team that will be one of the main contenders to win the Champions League come May.
"It's uphill for us now of course but if we play like we did tonight I'm sure we can make up the lost ground and go through."
