Competing in the Villar Perosa match straight after the Guinness International Champions Cup, not to mention the intense preparations in Chatillon beforehand, has undoubtedly been a tough physical undertaking for the Bianconeri, and for that reason they will be enjoying the full day of relaxation that Antonio Conte has rewarded them with today.
Tomorrow, though, the squad will be back at work in training as they prepare for their first official competitive fixture of the 2013/14 season: the Italian Super Cup against Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome on 18 August.
The regroup will involve a depleted contingent of players given that a total of 13 Bianconeri will be away on international duty.
The six Italians called up by Cesare Prandelli for the match against Argentina in honour of Pope Francis – Gianluigi Buffon, Andrea Barzagli, Leonardo Bonucci, Giorgio Chiellini, Claudio Marchisio and Andrea Pirlo – will be absent, as will Stephan Lichtsteiner, Fernando Llorente, Mirko Vucinic, Martin Caceres, Kwadwo Asamoah and the two Chileans, Mauricio Isla and Arturo Vidal.
Here is the list of international fixtures in which the Juventus players will be involved:
