Led by Antonio Conte’s assistant Angelo Alessio, the Bianconeri conduct fitness tests and work on technique in front of a large weekday crowd

The Bianconeri continued their build-up to the 2013/14 campaign with a morning training session at their pre-season base of Chatillon’s Stadio Brunod.

The younger members of the squad were first on the field, warming up by keeping the ball in the air whilst being put under pressure from the coaching staff, before conducting short and then long range passing drills.

Earlier on, Carlos Tévez, Angelo Ogbonna, Ouasim Buoy and Mauricio Isla completed several fitness tests devised by the Mapei Research Centre that assess the players’ muscular, aerobic and anaerobic capabilities, as well as their recovery time.

Simone Pepe looks closer to full fitness every day, and this morning he did a number of short-distance sprinting and agility exercises with Luca Marrone before signing autographs for the fans who so adore him.

With the sun shining once again in Val d’Aosta, the first team players emerged from the gym.  After the customary warm up sprints, next on the agenda was a passing exercise with a focus on laying the ball off to team-mates.

Training will resume this afternoon at 5.30pm (CET).
