Birthday boy Simone Pepe will be looking forward to an exciting season ahead after bringing an end to an injury nightmare which restricted him to a frustrating 2012/13 campaign on the sidelines.
The winger, who turns 30 today, made a successful comeback in the Primavera’s 2-1 weekend win over Spezia, scoring and providing an assist for Andrea Zanchetta’s youngsters during an invaluable 90-minute run out.
An ideal present for Simone would undoubtedly be a speedy return to first-team action against a side he knows all too well from his days in the Roma academy: this weekend’s opponents Lazio.
The effervescent midfielder clearly relishes this particular clash, with three of his 11 Juventus strikes coming against the Biancocelesti. These include a winner at the Stadio Olimpico back in November 2011 and a stunning bicycle kick that set Antonio Conte’s men on the road to a 2-1 victory five months later.
All associated with Juventus Football Club wish Simone a very happy birthday.
