A Juventus delegation visits a monument dedicated to the memory of the 39 supporters who lost their lives almost 29 years ago

Ahead of the upcoming 29th anniversary of the Heysel tragedy on Thursday 29 May, a Juventus delegation today paid tribute to the 39 victims with a visit to a monument dedicated to their memory in Reggio Emilia.

Pavel Nedved, Fabio Paratici and Mariella Scirea met Enzo Cerlini, chairman of the ‘Per non dimenticare Heysel’ committee and Adele Fontana, mother of Claudio Zavaroni, one of the supporters who tragically lost his life on that night in Brussels.

While this afternoon’s symbolic gesture will not be able to take away the pain suffered by the football world, it serves as a poignant reminder that such events should never be allowed to happen again.
