After putting pen to paper on an important agreement at Juventus Stadium over three weeks ago, yesterday saw the Juventus Soccer Schools International Russia project officially unveiled in Saint Petersburg.
Representing the club at a press conference in the country’s second largest city were academy director Gianluca Pessotto, project manager Marco Isnardi and head coach Davide Fornaca.
After receiving a warm welcome from long serving Juventus Club Russia chairman Alexey Myshaskin, Marco Isnardi began by outlining his delight at the passion conveyed towards the black and white stripes.
“The enthusiasm we’ve witnessed here is gratifying and highlights the great love that Juventus produces in every part of the world. We’re certain that this is just the first step and in the future even more young Russians will be able to enjoy the Bianconeri experience at first hand.”
During the first weeks of June and July, the JSS International Russia project will see approximately 200 youngsters given the opportunity to receive professional coaching under the Juventus blueprint in a fun, safe and stimulating environment.
This marks just the start of a collaboration which harbours ambitions to allow even more youngsters to fully immerse themselves in the Juventus Soccer Schools experience.
“It’s hugely satisfying and a great pleasure for me to attend this press conference in a new footballing land, Saint Petersburg. We’re happy to bring Juventus into slightly unchartered territory, and to give the many fans here the possibility of seeing a Juventus summer camp.”
The Russian project is the latest addition to an already packed schedule of upcoming Juventus International activities over the summer, with the number of countries involved continuing to expand at an impressive rate.
