Andrea Agnelli, Giuseppe Marotta, Antonio Conte and Gigi Buffon attend the ceremony celebrating the Faro della Vittoria monument’s return to former glory on top of one of Turin’s famous hills

Today is an important day for the city of Turin: after more than a year of being switched off, the light on top of the Faro della Vittoria - a historic monument in the Parco della Rimembranza which is the city's highest point - now casts its glow over the Piedmontese capital once again.

Present at the moment when one of Turin’s most famous figures was reinstated were a group representing another of its symbols: Juventus.

Giuseppe Marotta, Antonio Conte, Gigi Buffon and Andrea Agnelli were all in attendance, the latter’s name having always been linked to the monument ever since it was given to the city by Giovanni Agnelli senior in 1928 in honour of the ten-year anniversary of the end of the First World War.

And the Agnelli family, through Fiat and Exor, have now helped to return it to its former glory by contributing to the restoration fund, an undertaking represented at today’s ceremony by John Elkann, side by side with Mayor of Turin Piero Fassino.
