Lazio were the 2013/14 campaign’s first visitors to Juventus Stadium, and they were the first of many to leave empty handed, too, as Juve put four past Vladimir Petkovic’s men for the second time in 13 days

In their last match against Lazio, the Bianconeri recorded a magnificent 4-1 win on 31 August 2013 to crown their first game of the 2013/14 season at Juventus Stadium.

A swift Arturo Vidal double kicked off proceedings as Juve leapt to an early lead.

But the home faithful’s nerves were set jangling in the 28th minute as veteran striker Miroslav Klose pounced on a parried shot inside the area to slot past Gigi Buffon, putting the visitors one goal away from parity.

Other than the German forward, Antonio Candreva proved the biggest threat with five shots to his name (and Brazilian attacking midfielder Hernanes also looked dangerous before receiving his marching orders for a second yellow card).

But neither could stop the buoyant Bianconeri from maintaining their unbeaten start to the season as they went on to run away with it.

After commanding 60% of the ball and putting four past Federico Marchetti for the second time in 13 days after Italian Super Cup triumph at the Stadio Olimpico, Juve’s performance received a satisfied verdict from Antonio Conte.

Leonardo Bonucci, provider of two assists, and Paul Pogba, orchestrator of Vidal’s first, also offered their post-match view on a solid win.
