Paul Pogba’s calm conversion of Fabio Quagliarella’s bolt from the blue off the bar proved the difference at the Stadio Ennio Tardini on 2 November

When Juventus last met the Parma side they are to host at Juventus Stadium in tomorrow night’s rematch, a Paul Pogba goal was the decisive moment at the Stadio Ennio Tardini.

It was a strike which meant the Bianconeri continued their impeccable response to the 4-2 defeat away at Fiorentina with their third consecutive Serie A win without conceding.

A resilient performance was required to banish the demons of their last game on the road as the Gialloblu certainly didn’t make it easy on 2 November.

In fact it was the hosts who threatened first, ex-Juve strike Amauri trying his luck with a pair of long range efforts before Giorgio Chiellini and then Arturo Vidal attempted the same at the other end.

With the hosts mirroring Antonio Conte’s 3-5-2, they managed to keep things tight, and at half-time the fixture was still without a breakthrough.

Juve stepped things up after the break, though, only an outstretched Antonio Mirante leg stopping a purposeful Carlos Tevez hit towards the bottom corner.

It looked to have been coming, and the goal that unlocked the game arrived thanks to a moment of magic from Fabio Quagliarella.

The striker, on as a substitute, picked the ball up with his back to goal, shifted to the left and dispatched a shot in the other direction from 30 yards that crashed onto the bar. Paul Pogba was quickest to the rebound and just a calm sidefoot was required to give Conte’s men the lead on 77 minutes.

From there, the Bianconeri retained control of the ball (Vidal going on to top the passes completed index with 73) and managed to restrict Parma to just one shot on target.

To look back at the success that ended the Bianconeri’s winless run at the Tardini and took them to just two points behind Roma, check out the highlights below:
