An instinctive nod from Fernando Llorente proved the difference in a pulsating game when Juve last met Monday’s opponents Udinese in December, lifting them three points clear of Roma in the table

A Fernando Llorente winner right at the death saw Juventus Stadium erupt with unbridled joy after the tension of a gripping last encounter with Monday’s opponents Udinese on 1 December 2013.

On the day 12,100 children from Piedmont’s educational centers and soccer schools provided enthusiastic support from the stands thanks to the club’s “Gioca con me…Tifa con me” initiative, their cheers were met with both sides quickly getting into their stride.

But with Zebrette goalkeeper Zeljko Brkic putting in an outstanding performance, and Gigi Buffon sometimes having to spring sharply into action at the other end, it remained goalless at half-time.

It was Juve’s third game in seven days, but neither side looked keen on dropping off the pace and the contest zipped along at a great tempo, with chances aplenty.

While Buffon made an excellent double save on the ground and Arturo Vidal then followed suit with a double slide tackle in his own area, Brkic had to scramble back towards his goal to leap onto a ball that Llorente was just about to stick home.

But Antonio Conte certainly wasn’t settling for a draw, and he added Fabio Quagliarella to the mix alongside Carlos Tevez and Llorente to push for the win.

And in the end it was one of those strikers who got the winner in the very last minute of normal time!

Speaking after the final whistle, the Spaniard took stock of his first few months in the black and white stripes.

Another star performer on the night was undoubtedly Buffon, and the captain hailed a hard-fought win - Juve’s sixth in a row.

The boss concluded the post-match reaction by praising both the quality of the game and Juve's desire for the winner that took them three points clear at the top with Roma held at Atalanta.
