Stephan Lichtsteiner was all smiles after silencing his former supporters with two assists and a goal in tonight’s resounding Italian Super Cup victory over Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico.
The Swiss defender, who completed a switch to Turin back in 2011, expressed his delight at clinching his fourth trophy in the black and white stripes of Juventus before hailing the man-management skills of Antonio Conte.
Speaking to reporters after the final whistle, Lichtsteiner said: “I spent three splendid years at Lazio, but now I’m a Juventus player and I’ll enjoy every moment of this success. It was a great game, we won 4-0 at their place and I’m very happy. As far as Conte’s concerned, I need a manager who pushes me on and motivates me – and that’s exactly what he does.”
