After opposition midfielder Lorenzo Degeri is taken safely to hospital at the start of Juve’s friendly against Pavia, Fernando Llorente puts in a fine display during this afternoon's confident victory over the Lega Pro outfit

Fernando Llorente enjoyed a spectacular outing in Juve’s 7-0 friendly win against Pavia this afternoon, netting a total of four goals in an excellent Bianconeri showing against the Lega Pro Prima Divisione outfit.

A highly-anticipated opportunity for Pavia to test themselves against the reigning champions got off to a troubled start when Lorenzo Degeri received a blow to the head in a challenge with Simone Padoin, causing the visitors’ midfielder to faint and fall to the floor.

Medics were on hand to provide instant medical attention while a semi-automatic defibrillator was also used to monitor the player's situation. Degeri regained consciousness and responded coherently when being transported by ambulance to Turin’s CTO hospital.

The player was attended to by Professor Benech and all tests carried out returned negative. He will stay under overnight observation as a precaution before being discharged tomorrow morning.

With both sides reassured in the knowledge that Degeri was in safe hands, the match got back underway, and Juventus went ahead early on through an incisive combination from Fabio Quagliarella and Fernando Llorente, Antonio Conte’s chosen strike partnership for the occasion.

The Italian provided the assist for the Spaniard’s arrowing shot, and Pavia were unable to prevent El Rey Leon from scoring a second a few minutes later when he slotted home a precise finish on the turn.

Marco Motta then made it 3-0 to close the half after a wonderful assist from Paolo De Ceglie, and the Bianconeri were back on the scoresheet again straight after the restart through Quagliarella. Llorente it was who returned the favour for his strike partner with an inch-perfect pass.

But Juve’s 28-year-old summer signing wasn’t satisfied with his haul yet, going on to seal a hat-trick in signature style with a powerful header into the net from Albertos Roussos’ cross before promptly sticking home a fourth past Pavia goalkeeper Francesco Rossi.

The finishing touches on the 7-0 victory were then provided by Ouasim Buoy, who scored with a rasping shot from the edge of the area.

Tomorrow, the group will return to the training field for a morning session.
