Paul Pogba has stressed that Juventus must keep up the level of their performances in the four league games that remain after sending Bologna home empty handed tonight with a record 17th consecutive league win at Juventus Stadium.
Speaking after Piero Giacomelli’s final whistle blew, the 21-year-old began: “The Scudetto is now even closer. We need to keep going with more of the same, game after game.”
It was the Frenchman who decided tonight’s clash with the Rossoblu, just like it was in Turin in 2012. And this time his goal was a real peach, a powerful effort dispatched past an outstretched Gianluca Curci from distance.
But Pogba was keen that the victory should be regarded as a team effort rather than the fruits of just his labours alone.
“I’m happy with the victory, just like the boss and all my team-mates. Let’s just consider the success, not me personally.”
The midfielder concluded by reiterating his ultimate concentration on achieving the team’s objectives this season.
“All I think about is being out there on the pitch. I want to make history by winning the Scudetto and the Europa League. We know it’s a tough ask, but we all want it.”
