Matchwinner Paul Pogba describes his satisfaction at the team’s victory in such a crucial fixture, but immediately turns his attentions to another equally important one: Wednesday’s Champions League game against Galatasaray

Having seen two Paul Pogba shots fly past him last season while playing for Udinese, Torino goalkeeper Danieli Padelli would no doubt have been nervous when lining up against the Frenchman today, and in the end his worst fears came true as Pogba turned out to be the decisive man in the 187th Derby Della Mole.

The midfielder’s first Serie A goal of the season has taken the Bianconeri to top spot in the league table ahead of Roma’s game against Bologna tonight, and the 20-year-old described his joy returning to pole position when speaking after the match: “It was a difficult game but we’re all happy with the victory and reclaiming top spot, even if momentarily.”

Ever the model professional, Pogba concluded by turning his attentions to Juve’s upcoming European fixture against Turkish side Galatasaray: “Now we’ll concentrate on the Champions League. We drew the first game, so it’s fundamental that we win on Wednesday night.”
