The midfielder gets France’s World Cup preparations off to a flying start with the opener in last night’s 4-0 win over Norway

Paul Pogba scored the opener in France’s 4-0 friendly defeat of Norway yesterday evening in Paris, perfectly placing his header into the corner.

The 21-year-old got Les Bleus’ first World Cup warm-up game off to a strong start as he swiveled to angle Mathieu Valbuena’s cross inside the far post at the Stade de France after just 15 minutes.

Two Olivier Giroud goals either side of a Loic Remy strike finished the job for former Juve man Didier Deschamps’ team, with Pogba substituted by Moussa Sissoko at half-time.

The midfielder will now continue his build-up to the fast-approaching tournament in Brazil, France’s next friendly coming on 1 June against Paraguay.
