Paul Pogba seems to pass every test that he is presented with, and that's just what he did this evening on one of the greatest footballing stages of all, the Santiago Bernabeu. The young midfielder offered a strong presence in the middle of the park even after Andrea Pirlo left the field and he also played a decisive role in the build-up to Llorente's first-half leveller.
Reflecting on proceedings after the match, Pogba identified what he considers the turning point of the game: "We were excellent in the first 45 minutes but it was a real shame about Chiellini's red card. That was an important decision and we're sad but we can't do anything about it now. Obviously it was much harder for us trying to get back into it playing with ten men. Had it stayed 11 v 11 we might have been able to peg them back."
The French youngster also commented on the team's new formation before insisting that Juve are still very much in the running to reach the Champions League knockout stage.
"The coach wanted us more compact and try to break forward on the counter. In any case the group is anything but over. We still have three games to play and we'll go into them looking to win, then we'll see."
