A Parma side brimming with confidence after a run of five consecutive league wins were too strong for the Juventus Primavera yesterday evening, recording a 2-1 win in Vinovo.
It’s the second consecutive defeat for Andrea Zanchetta’s side, and they faced an uphill battle right from the start as Jose Mauri put the visitors in front with just seven minutes gone.
Sergio Buenacasa managed to pull the Bianconeri level on 33 minutes, but it was Parma who were celebrating come the final whistle thanks to a Leonardo Dias Consulin strike.
In the end it proved a case of greater killer instinct on the visitors’ part as they made the most of the few chances let slip through by the Juve rearguard.
The opposition Zanchetta’s side face next week when they look to bounce back will be Carpi.
