In a Coppa Italia Primavera format updated to resemble that of the first team, Juventus’ youngsters will begin the defence of their title in December and will potentially face derby opponents Torino in the quarter finals

According to Lega Serie A’s official draw for the Tim Cup 2013/14, December will see the Bianconeri Primavera face their first challenger in their attempt to defend the title that they won last season.

This year, the tournament has adopted the formula used by the first team competition whereby the last 16 and quarter-final ties are knock-out fixtures. The semi-final and final, on the other hand, will be two-legged affairs.

Juve, current holders of the trophy and the number one seed, will enter the tournament in the last 16 stage. They will play one of possible opponents Bologna, Carpi/Latina, Genoa, Novara, Sampdoria, Sassuolo, Spezia or Varese in an encounter at Juventus Stadium.

The quarter-finals hold in store a possible pairing with Torino, a derby match-up that would be a repeat of the semi-final in last year's competition.

Here are the dates for the various Coppa Italia rounds:

    Preliminary round: 21 August
    1st round: 28 August
    2nd round: 25 September
    Last 16: 4 December
    Quarter-finals: 21 December
    Semi-finals: 22 and 29 August
Final: 26 February and 26 March
