A first-half Giovanni Graziano header consigned the Primavera to a narrow 1-0 derby defeat against inter-city rivals Torino at Chisola this afternoon.
The Bianconeri will be left feeling frustrated after failing to make the most of their chances during a promising opening to the game, with both Edoardo Ceria and Younes Bnou Marzouk squandering decent opportunities for the hosts early on.
Torino came to life shortly after the 30-minute mark, Matteo Colombi testing Gianmarco Vannucchi with a left-footed strike that drew a smart stop from the goalkeeper.
But there was little the shotstopper could do when Graziano met Mattia Aramu’s pinpoint free-kick to head the visitors in front three minutes before the break.
Andrea Zanchetta’s side worked hard to fashion a response after the interval, but if anything it was Torino who looked the most likely to double their advantage, Emmanuel Gyasi and Graziano both spurning chances before the final whistle.
