Carlitos Tevez was overcome with delight when he stepped up onto the Summer Village stage to greet a packed out crowd this evening in Chatillon.
The Argentine’s appearance was met by scenes of delirium as fans frequently chanted his name and showed their support for their new hero in the black and white stripes.
The 29-year-old, speaking to DJ Nana and JTV’s Cristina Chiabotto, began by expressing his determination to honour the club’s illustrious history.
Tevez said: “I knew about the club’s great history and victories. That’s why when Conte and the directors spoke to me, I had absolutely no hesitation in joining Juventus. I’m here to help the team make further history. Everyone wants the Champions League and we’ll do all we can to crown this dream.”
The striker, who netted a debut goal in Wednesday’s 7-0 win over Rappresentativa Valle d’Aosta, signed off by conveying his delight at being handed the famous number 10 jersey.
“It’s a wonderful feeling. I feel privileged to wear the number 10, a shirt that has a great deal of history behind it. There’s real pressure but I’ll do my best to make people happy.”
