Juventus continued to step up their pre-season preparations with an intense morning training session at Palo Alto’s Cagan Stadium.
Having already sampled the excellent facilities on offer at Stanford University in yesterday’s preliminary workout, Antonio Conte’s men were back to work this morning as they attempt to shake off the nine-hour jet lag.
The intensity of the Bianconeri’s training sessions has remained the same as it was in Chatillon, with detailed focus placed on three main aspects - fitness, technique and tactics – in a bid to ensure the players are in peak physical condition come the start of the 2013/14 season.
And with that principal in mind, Conte began to put separate groups through their paces in the first of today’s double workout. The defenders were up first at 9.30am and focused on moving the ball around the back whilst under pressure from the opposition.
After conducting an hour’s detailed tactical drills, the defenders made then way for the midfielders and forwards, who placed their efforts on constructing attacking moves in line with Conte’s precise instructions.
Supporting the team in their efforts to push themselves to the limit in the glorious California sunshine was a selection of local fans. These were also given the opportunity to meet their heroes in person as they made their way from the stadium to the team bus.
The Bianconeri will continue their build-up to next Wednesday’s Guinness International Champions Cup debut against Everton when they return to Cagan Stadium this afternoon.
