Carlos Tevez has described the match against Catania he unlocked with a 59th-minute winner as a hard-fought encounter, the latest in what he envisages as a series of more difficult games to come with the end of the season approaching.
The Argentine, who this evening provided an instant response to the hat-trick Ciro Immobile scored for Torino yesterday to pull level with him as Serie A’s top scorer, once again epitomised a battling Juve performance with a seemingly superhuman tenacity that was crucial to the win.
Speaking after the final whistle, Tevez began: “It was a difficult game, Catania were very aggressive. It was a real battle out there tonight, but everyone who plays Juventus clearly wants to win.”
The 30-year-old striker then concluded with his view of the challenge facing the Bianconeri during their final push in the 2013/14 campaign.
“We now need to treat each of our remaining league games as finals, and after that we’ll start thinking about how we’re going to tackle the Europa League.”
