Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid side travel to the Estadio Manuel Martinez Valero for this evening's midweek domestic fixture against newly-promoted Elche

Just like Juventus, Real Madrid face a midweek away fixture of their own this evening. With the Bianconeri taking on Chievo Verona, Los Merengues travel to newly-promoted Elche, the first time that they will have done so in 24 years.

Fran Escribá’s side have yet to win this season after achieving promotion to the Primera División at the end of the last campaign, but they have managed to pick up points from three draws, including a 1-1 against Champions League competitors Real Sociedad.

Yet they will surely struggle to get a result against the giants of world football that are Real Madrid at the Estadio Manuel Martinez Valero. Now in third, Carlo Ancelotti’s side are gaining on Atletico Madrid and Barcelona at the top of the table and also have a game in hand.

Gareth Bale will not take part after picking up a thigh injury during the warm-up before Madrid’s last game against Getafe, but striker Richmond Boakye – on loan with Los Franjiverdes from Juventus – is set to feature.
