Arturo Vidal has expressed his delight at the message Juventus sent out with tonight’s commanding 3-1 win over Inter in the Derby d’Italia.
After receiving January’s player of the month award just before kick-off, the Chilean went on to again prove himself the embodiment of the team’s desire to win every ball, an attitude he believes was crucial to victory.
Speaking after the final whistle, the 26-year-old began: “We made an aggressive start, which is always key when playing in such an important derby. The most crucial thing is that we beat a team who are always difficult to play against.”
As if there was any need to reiterate it, Vidal went on to stress the team’s desire to make history this season.
“We’ve shown that we want to win that third consecutive Scudetto.”
The scorer of the third goal against the Nerazzurri concluded with some warm words for his team-mate Mirko Vucinic, who made an instant impact after coming on in the second half and was unfortunate to hit the post after his shot was deflected.
“Here at Juventus, we’re a family.”
