David Trezeguet is in Turin to see Sunday's match against Roma. In the meantime he popped into Vinovo today to catch up with Conte and other former team-mates

A promise is a promise. David Trezeguet had planned to come to Turin in December but was forced to postpone his visit because of commitments with his current club, Newell's Old Boys. However, he immediately promised he would make the trip for the Roma game.

True to his word, the former Bianconeri frontman arrived in town today, a few days early. David couldn't wait to catch up with his old friends, so naturally his first port of call was Juventus Center. There he met a host of familiar faces: Antonio Conte (the two spent four seasons in the same side), Gigi Buffon and Giorgio Chiellini; Claudio Marchisio, Paolo De Ceglie and Sebastian Giovinco, who made their first appearances in a Juventus shirt alongside the Argentine striker; Martin Caceres, who spent a year at Juventus in 2009/10; plus Marco Storari, Leonardo Bonucci, Marco Motta and Simone Pepe, who appeared in Trezeguet's last match in the black and white stripes, against Shamrock Rovers in Modena on 5 August 2010. And of course Gianluca Pessotto.

Besides greeting his former team-mates, he was introduced to all the players he never stepped onto the pitch with. It was a very memorable occasion for all concerned.

In a few days' time it will be the fans' turn: on Sunday 5 January, before the game against Roma, the Bianconeri faithful will have the chance to pay homage to Juve's greatest foreign goalscorer of all time.
