Massimiliano Allegri says this evening’s 3-2 win over Fiorentina will enable the Bianconeri to approach the remainder of the season in the best frame of mind.

With a 14-point lead and five more games remaining of this season’s Serie A, only a minor miracle will prevent Juventus from being crowned Italian champions for the fourth season in a row.

And, while he is eager to sew up the title at the first time of asking on Saturday evening against Sampdoria, Allegri is confident the Bianconeri are well placed to give the two other competitions they remain in – the Champions League and Coppa Italia – their best possible shot.

Speaking to reporters at Juventus Stadium, he said: “We’ll look to claim the point we need in Genova, even though we’ve lost the last two away games. Then we’ll focus our attentions on our Champions League and Coppa Italia clashes. Tonight’s victory is important because it enables us go into the remaining games with a calm state of mind.”

There was also positive news on the progress of Paul Pogba, whom Allegri revealed could return to full training within the next seven days.

He concluded: “Paul will have another checkup tomorrow but I think all will be OK, meaning he should join up with the team next week.”
