Massimiliano Allegri has urged the Bianconeri to focus on one challenge at a time as they stand on the brink of a fourth consecutive Scudetto title.

Four points are required for the reigning champions to sew up yet more domestic silverware and the manager believes a mature outlook is vital if his team are going to take an important step towards their target with victory over Fiorentina tomorrow.

Speaking to the media in Vinovo: “We need to collect four points and tomorrow we can pick up a maximum of three so we’ll need to be patient. What matters is that we keep going and get there in the end.

“We have to take things one game at a time, we can’t play them all at once. We’re not playing Real Madrid tomorrow or the following day, we meet them on 5 May. We therefore have to prepare for tomorrow night’s match as best we can because it’s definitely harder to work on the back of a loss.”

Wednesday’s visitors to Juventus Stadium make the journey from Florence looking to bounce back from three consecutive defeats, prompting Allegri to warn his men, defeated the last time they played the Viola on home soil, of a potential backlash from a wounded side.

“This is a tricky match because Fiorentina are a technical side who play good football. They’re always a tough team to face. We have to try and get back to winning ways, which would allow us to move to within one point of being champions.”

Reflecting on Sunday’s Derby della Mole reverse against Torino, the manager was careful not to reproach his side too much for their display, identifying their misfortune in the final third as a main reason behind the eventual outcome.

“We played well against Torino and I think it was one of our best performances in recent times, particularly with regards to the chances we created. We had a lot of shots and hit the woodwork three times. So I don’t think the result reflects our performance. That said, defensively we made three mistakes and conceded two goals.”
