Massimiliano Allegri was today’s special guest lecturer at the internal coaching course organised by Roberto Sassi, head of the club’s Training Check programme, designed to bring the entire backroom staff together for the exchange of working practices and new ideas.
During the two-hour meeting, Allegri discussed a host of relevant topics, ranging from matchday tactics to specific training drills used to bring out the best in players.
Launched last season with the intention of providing the club’s backroom staff with a unique method of working, be they Pulcini academy or first-team coaches, Sassi’s sessions are delivered on a weekly basis, with a total of 50 hours’ contact time required to complete the course.
A 360 degree view is achieved by the sheer variety of subjects covered, from traditional technical seminars to goalkeeping practices, sports science and fitness techniques.
Sassi has occupied his role as the head of Training Check since 2011/12, with his department tasked with monitoring the condition of players and creating a training strategy to be implemented by all of the club’s teams.
