Massimiliano Allegri has expressed his satisfaction at the way the Bianconeri went about their business in this evening’s 8-1 friendly win against the ISL All Stars in Indonesia.
The international contingent, who returned from their respective holidays just 10 days ago, were all out in force at varying stages of the encounter and, along with the rest of the first-team squad, showed fitness levels that impressed the manager.
Speaking after the final whistle, Allegri began: “It was a good workout and the lads approached it the right manner. We’ve got every reason to be satisfied with what was produced tonight. These kinds of games need to get your fitness up to speed and the entire group is working well.”
One player who particularly caught the eye was second-half substitute Simone Pepe, whose strong contribution of two assists and a goal saw him come in for praise from Allegri.
“Simone is fully recovered and I’m very happy for him. He played, scored and put in a decent display.”
Juventus will now depart for the second leg of their Asia-Pacific tour in Australia, and Allegri is happy the team managed to sign off their spell in Indonesia with a goal-laden display.
“I’m delighted at the opportunity to have worked in Jakarta with all these great supporters. Tonight they were repaid by a good performance from the lads: this shows the respect they have for the fans here.”
