The Livorno-born official is to take charge of proceedings during Saturday evening’s encounter in Reggio Emilia

Luca Banti has been named referee for the Bianconeri’s return to Serie A action on Saturday evening with Sassuolo at the Mapei Stadium.

The Livorno-born official has previously run the rule over 19 fixtures involving the Bianconeri dating back to 2005 (15 of those in the top flight) and Juventus’ Serie A record under his tutelage currently reads 11 victories, two draws and two defeats.

Saturday will be the first time the 40-year-old has presided over a match between Juventus and Sassuolo, with this weekend's upcoming clash serving as only the third occasion in history that the two have met.

Banti will be aided in Reggio Emilia by assistant referees Costanzo and Schenone, goal-line officials Di Bello and Chiffi and fourth official La Rocca.
