Andrea Barzagli has come a long way in four years with Juventus. So far, in fact, that looking back he almost finds it hard to believe just how successful and consistent Juve have been.
"I honestly didn't think we'd go on to win as much as we have. The opening of Juventus Stadium sparked off something special that has made this club great again and seen us enjoy incredible success. We've written a chunk of Bianconeri history and we want to go on adding more pages."
The next page could be on Tuesday.
"We have a tough month ahead of us now because there are two more trophies we want to win. We celebrated in the dressing room but I think it's right that we should get our heads straight down again starting from tomorrow."
After spending much of the season watching on from the sidelines, the stalwart defender was asked how he's been holding up since making his return six weeks ago.
"I admit there were a few doubts in my mind. But I must say that I never let myself get detached from it all. I stayed switched on and kept hoping I'd be able to make my comeback.
"I thought I might suffer a bit of a dip but I had a very strong team behind me. And a lot of it is down to your focus: if I've been able to perform well, it's because I've managed to keep it high. Hopefully I can keep it up for a few more years yet!"
