Giovanissimi suffer first league reverse of the term

The Giovanissimi Nazionali saw their 100 per cent start to the season come to an end as Genoa went clear at the top of the table courtesy of this morning’s 3-1 win in Vinovo.

Riccardo Malandruccolo and Simone Zola fired the visitors into a two-goal lead inside the first half, with Fabrizio Caligara giving the hosts hope when he halved the deficit.

But an early second-half goal from Gabriele Gibilterra sealed the Giovanissimi’s fate to leave them trailing the Gialloblu by four points with a game in hand.

The Bianconeri’s first chance to get back on track comes next week away at Sampdoria in Liguria.
