The Agnelli family and Juventus are a relationship that just work.

It is 91 years to the day that Edoardo was the first of four members of the Agnelli family to take charge of Juventus as president. During his 12 year spell at the helm of the club, Edoardo was instrumental in moulding the Bianconeri into the most successful Italian football team.

After passing away aged 43 due to a tragic accident, his sons Giovanni and Umberto both continued his fine work (in 1947 and 1955 respectively) to make sure the Old Lady remained at the forefront of their competitors.

Edoardo oversaw six Scudetto triumphs including the incredible Quinquennio period when the Bianconeri dominated Serie A from 1930 to 1935 by winning five Scudetto titles in a row, making Juventus the first Italian club side in history to achieve such an honour.

His effect is still seen today as the current Juventus side, under the tutelage of his grandson Andrea, are on the hunt to equal and possibly eclipse this remarkable feat.
