Claudio Marchisio spoke of the importance of the Bianconeri returning to winning ways and Fernando Llorente opening his account for the season in today’s 2-0 triumph over Palermo at Juventus Stadium.
The midfielder, recalled to the starting line-up after being named among the substitutes for Olympiacos in midweek, believes Palermo offered a decent test for Juventus with a performance that defied their position in the lower reaches of the table.
Speaking to the media after the final whistle, Marchisio said: “It was important to win today and stop any potential beginning of a ‘crisis’ after our draw against Sassuolo and defeat in Athens.
“Palermo are a decent side and gave us a few problems on the counter at times. Nando getting off the mark was great for both him and the team and the goal came at a time when we were perhaps a little too frenetic.”
