Giuseppe Marotta was the Juventus spirit personified after our Champions League adventure was brought to a halt in the final. Pleased with the team's success but impatient to start over and make sure Juve remain up there with the very best.
The Bianconeri CEO began: "First of all, I'd like to reiterate what an excellent job our coach has done in masterminding our success this season.
"Tonight is the continuation of a journey which we set out on years ago and which has seen us enjoy domestic success. Now we'll get stuck into the Champions League again next year and try to get back into the final.
"The footballing season ends here but we must already start thinking about the future. We need to start again with players of the very highest calibre – players like Paul Pogba, for example.
"Our triumphs are down to the sense of belonging this group shares and the eclectic mix of players together with our coach.
"It's also thanks to players like Pirlo, whose tears tonight are understandable. It was just a release from a top professional who has given so much joy to us all. For one night he, too, experienced a very intense moment."
