Juventus CEO Giuseppe Marotta will enter the Italian Football Hall of Fame after a panel of experts at the Football Federation’s Rome headquarters named him on a nine-man list for the prestigious accolade.

Joining Marotta are Fabio Cannavaro, Diego Armando Maradona, Carlo Ancelotti, Stefano Braschi, Sandro Mazzola, Ferruccio Novo, Carlo Carcano and Giacomo Bulgarelli.

The section of Coverciano’s football museum, opened in December 2011, aims to promote the heritage, history, culture and values of the Italian game and already features illustrious former Bianconeri such as Roberto Baggio, Dino Zoff, Giampiero Boniperti, Marcello Lippi, Giovanni Trapattoni, Michel Platini and Gaetano Scirea

The awards ceremony will be held in January, when each winner is to donate a particular memoir from their career to the exhibit.
